GraceWay Children Academy
At GraceWay Children Academy, we service families with children aged six weeks through fifth grade. We offer a private, full-day Kindergarten experience. We are a non-profit, faith-based learning center and are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services to provide childcare, governed by the Pastor at GraceWay Church of God in Camp Hill, as well as, the Center Director on site.

Infants

The Infant Room houses children ages six weeks through one year. There is a 4:1 ratio in this classroom; primarily there are three teachers and twelve children at a given time. Children in the infant room spend most of their time learning in the classroom through teacher interaction, tummy time, social interaction with peers, and discovering the world around them. Occasionally the infants will have the opportunity to go outdoors while a teacher takes them on a walk around the playground. Included in your infant room enrollment/tuition is the choice to use the center-provided formula (Similac Advance) and food (stage one and stage two fruits and vegetables).

Young Toddlers

The Young Toddler Room houses children 12-24 months. These children have a sturdy walk, are self-feeding, and drinking milk from a sippy cup. There is a 5:1 ratio in this age group; primarily there are two separate classrooms with ten children and two teachers in each. Daily, the young toddlers experience gross motor time in our indoor playroom or outdoor playground (weather permitting). All meals are included in your young toddler room tuition – breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Older Toddlers

The Older Toddlers Room houses children two years old through three years old. These children are preparing to potty train. There is a 6:1 ratio in this age group; primarily there are three classrooms – two classrooms with two teachers and 12 children, and one classroom with one teacher and six children. Once a week children in the older toddlers get to visit the art room, music room, and library. Daily, these children experience gross motor time in our indoor playroom or outdoor playground (weather permitting). The Older Toddler classrooms introduce an academic instruction time into their day. All meals are included in your older toddler room tuition – breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Preschool

The Preschool classrooms house children who are three or four years of age. Once a child reaches this part of the program they are enrolled in a classroom based on when they will enter kindergarten. The preschool teachers are preparing your child to become accustomed to an elementary school schedule, while academic time is primarily teacher directed. The ratio in this age group is 10:1, each classroom is arranged with a bathroom, primary teacher, and learning environment. Twice a week children experience the art room, instead of only the classroom; along with weekly trips to our library. Each day, preschool children enjoy gross motor time in our indoor playroom or outdoor playground (weather permitting). All meals are included in your preschool room tuition – breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-Kindergarten classrooms house children who are four or five years of age. Once a child reaches this part of the program they are enrolled in a classroom based on when they will enter kindergarten. The pre-kindergarten teachers are preparing your child to be equipped for the elementary school schedule; their academic time is primarily child directed, with the teachers offering assistance when necessary. The ratio in this age group is 10:1, each classroom is arranged with a bathroom, primary teacher, and learning environment. Twice a week children experience the art room, instead of only the classroom; along with weekly trips to the GCA library. Each day pre-kindergarten children enjoy gross motor time in our indoor playroom or outdoor playground (weather permitting). All meals are included in your pre-kindergarten room tuition – breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Full-Day Kindergarten

Full-Day Kindergarten students at GraceWay Children Academy enjoy a more intimate, full-day learning environment. This allows students to dive deeper into subject matter and develop a love of learning. Kindergarten instruction follows the Abeka Curriculum. Abeka is a faith-based academic curriculum. These children still get to enjoy the extracurricular rooms around the center, like the art room and the library. They have a morning and afternoon gross motor time. All meals are included in your full-day kindergarten tuition – breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. To enroll in the full-day Kindergarten program your child must be five years old by September 1st of the academic year.

Half-Day Kindergarten, Partnered with Sporting Hill Elementary School

Half-Day Kindergarten students attend Sporting Hill Elementary School for AM Kindergarten, then join the GraceWay Children Academy Kindergarten class for lunch and afternoon enrichment activities. All meals are included in your full-day kindergarten tuition – breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Before/After School, Partnered with Sporting Hill Elementary School

GraceWay Children Academy partners with Sporting Hill Elementary School to provide before/after school care for children in first – fifth grade. Children enrolled in this part of the program get on and off the bus from the GraceWay Children Academy parking lot. They enjoy free play with the preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten children when they are not at public school.

Summer Program

Our goal at GraceWay Children Academy is to develop a Summer Program where children enjoy summer fun, but also retains all the things they have learned throughout the school year. To be enrolled in Summer Program children must have completed kindergarten up to children entering fifth grade. Throughout the 10-week duration of Summer Program the children participate in field trips, see an on-stage performance and explore the wonders of science, participate in outdoor hikes and experience wildlife in person, and visit museums, play outside, and even ride on a train! While back ‘home’ at the center, children will participate in reading activities, celebrate hometown hero’s, give thanks and praise to those who make a difference in our lives, perform activities to support those in our area who would benefit from services, and so much more. Space is limited and is available on a first come basis; priority registration is given to Full-Day and Half-Day Kindergarten students, but this is not a guarantee of enrollment space.
